At the time of writing this, the exchange rate has just pushed back past the magical 100 Yen barrier and is sitting at 100.11 Yen to the Dollar. This is an amazing rate compared to recent years.

At the same time the prices of many vehicle models in Japan are significantly depressed as a result of the global slowdown and a reduction of world demand for cars. Due to the reduced number of imports to Australia, compliance prices are also very competitive.

So now is the perfect opportunity to import vehicles at the LOWEST PRICES EVER.

Prices are falling fastest on expensive vehicles. Good examples include Lancer EVO's and V35 Skylines which are both down in price by about $5,000 to $7,000 in most cases. EVO 7 GSR turbo 5 speeds cost from about $22,000 complied, EVO 8's from about $29,000 complied. V35 coupes cost from as little as $21,000 complied at the moment for some very nice examples. R34 GTR's are down in the low $40,000 complied range, and we have even seen some sell for the low $30,000 complied mark with high kms.

Prices really are doing some insane things at the moment and auction sellers are getting desperate. In 10 years there has never been a buyer's market like this one.
